Blog-Stalk Confessions: Onward, to Prinnyville...
Tue Jan 3, 2012 4:27:19 pm

I was gonna write a long post while taking the bus from Miami to Orlando, but I have this thing where I can't be looking down in a moving vehicle for too long or I get nauseous so this will be it.

This is my first time taking a Greyhound and I can already understand why so many people dislike it. We left a half hour late and the electrical outlets are not working, which means I only get to enjoy the use of my computer for a little under half of the ride. I guess this works out, since I'm going to need to keep taking breaks to avoid getting sick.

BRB INHALING

I hate it too when the stretch limo is in the garage.

I've never used greyhound, but my mom's cousin used to work for them, and she says that it sucks balls. If someone who worked for the company says it sucks, well... that's gotta mean something.

I used greyhound when traveling from Toronto to NYC once. I really liked it, but I am always excited when traveling. No matter how. And I also really liked my company at that time.

No foul smelling creatures as of yet.

I think I already told my Greyhound story in which I met the SHARP that followed me to my dormitory and waited for me to come down...

I went from Seattle to Tucson once using Greyhound, the worst buses and bus service I have ever used in my life. Also, drivers are mean and rude. I am also convinced that even the shitiest bus that provides intercity, interstate service in Mexico is ten times better than Greyhound.

The only invasive person so far was an old lady who cut me in line because she formed her own line away from everyone else and realized it too late. Joke's on her though because she now has a huge guy sitting next to her and they both look very uncomfortable.

I rode the Greyhound once and it's like the bus system here but even worse. So many smelly people in one place. Also, the guy I was sitting by wanted to borrow my phone to call him mom because he was released from prison. That was very random.

Greyhound is something I can live with. Something I have to live with to do the traveling I want to do within the travel budget I have.

A few things I learned:
- never be the first to enter the bus because you won't know who'll sit next to you
- never be the last, because then you'll find all the "good" seats are already taken
- don't sit in the back (that's where the stinky toilet and the hot engine are)
- don't sit up front... I've found somewhere in the middle between the front and rear wheels you get the least unwanted ride motion.
- don't overdress, you'll attract unwanted attention (folk who want to bum something off you)
- don't underdress, you'll attract unwanted attention (security)

I have the same issue with vehicles.

I only used Greyhound once to go to Boston. It wasn't a great ride, but it was still probably better than Fung Wah.

Ick. I have motion sickness in cars, too. Just hearing you talk about it is making me dizzy feeling.
Oh I rode the greyhound from CA to MS to OH and back to CA. It was an experience to say the least. I rather travel by train than any other way. I love trains.
Good luck on getting nice people sitting by you.
