the girls are back in school!!!!!!!! i miss them, but i miss my sanity more.

eggs are due tomorrow. yes. eggs.

my birds like sex and even though i rearranged the cage and took the nest box down after the last clutch, 19 days ago she started laying again. she laid the first on the cage floor and i wasnt just going to leave it there to get cold and die so i set the box up again.
she laid 5 more. i did keep the 2 survivors of the first round so i will need a lot of strength to get rid of some of these..... i could never be a breeder of anything.

last night i put up that window stuff.....insulation..... you know? that plastic sheet that you blow dry after it's up?



i put it in our room first because it has been ice cold in there at night and that is where the babies sleep.... it was easy to put up, may have been easier if Harper wasnt "helping" haha, but she is SUCH a good little helper!

after it was put up came the blow dryer part, so i haul out the only one i had, it was my great grandmother's formerly and was given to me when i first moved here by my great aunt..... Lord only know how old this thing is....and i never blow dry my hair...

so here it is, the big moment.... the part i have been waiting for....blow drying the plastic....i hit the on button and

POOF!!! BANG!!! POP!!! and a FLASH!

the blow dryer wire was in HALF! WTF!

good thing Harper wasnt there at the moment.

so i carefully unplug the half that was plugged in and send andy to the store to by my first new blow dryer in probably.... 15? years.....
im debating on taking it back after the job is done....but i am on the verge of having 2 teenage girls.... so we'll see.

also, the curtain rod in my living room has been bent for....i dont even know...6 months or more?? looking ghetto as hell because my curtains are light weight so the "settle " into the creased part...well actually here.......



and EVERY time we go to the store i forget to get one, it had been on the list for MONTHS!
the last straw was when i got home from the hospital and i realized my house was FULL of paramedics and my curtains were looking like that, i was , after the fact, embarrassed and so last night on his voyage to walmart at 1030 at night to retrieve a blow dryer, he also got me a curtain rod <3

he is my hero, and all is right in the world.
