Blog-Stalk Confessions: Leaving tomorrow...
Wed Jan 11, 2012 1:02:50 am
I'm back to NY tomorrow. The last few days were interesting. I saw three movies over the last two days, because I really had nothing else I wanted to do. Saw Sherlock Holmes yesterday, it was enjoyable.
After the movie I met up with Pinkphilosoraptor and we ate foodstuffs and visited my favorite used bookstore where the older guy who owns it wooed ppr with his life story and cute cat. She told me to tell you how awesome she is and to not mention her car, so there you go. She's awesome and there's nothing wrong with her car.
This morning I saw Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for no reason at all other than it was the only movie that was starting within the hour of my getting there. I got pretty much what I expected. It was nowhere near as good as the Swedish version. The music was too loud and really unsuited for the scenes, the camera work was really weak for the first half of the movie, the relationships of the characters were nowhere near as nuanced as in the book and the girl playing Lisbeth Salander can't act. I followed that suckfest up with a long walk, then met up with ppr again to see New Year's Eve. It was cute enough and really cheesy, pretty much what you'd expect.
Tonight I will play video games with my friend and maybe talk to him some more about the issues he and his wife are having. Then in the morning we will do more of the same until he drops me off at the airport.
See you soon, NYC.

Interesting note- the first thing pinkphilosoraptor said to me when she saw me was ''You're short!"
But w/e. She's like 5 foot a million. I bet she hits her head like ten times a day.

Oh! AND I FORGOT. I totally just bingoed Burnadette for the win on the last move in our scrabble game. It's fun going from down 50 to up 40 in one move.

You're not *short* exactly. Are you? I remember the smooth skin, not much else tbh. But w/e. She's like 5 foot a million. I bet she hits her head like ten times a day.

i'm 5'8" and was only slightly taller than the average asian in high school. but i went back to cheer on my school's cross country team at the state meet in october and the average height among asians and indians has increased a lot. seems the average among seniors was 5'10" or more.
