URGH.

I HAVE A PROBLEM.

PEOPLE LOVE ME TOO MUCH.

But seriously. Two of the people I used to work for found out that I am back in town early and both contacted me and offered me raises to resume doing what I was doing for them before. I am not sure how I feel about this.

Raises are good, right?

WE CAN'T HELP IT.

Raises are good, but the work is sparse and the reason I parted ways with my assorted part time jobs in the first place is that I felt like I wanted to focus on something that was A- more consistent and B- not a dead end.

Those are the cons. The pros are that if I want to focus on writing for a while, it'd be nice to have two things that won't occupy much time and still bring a bit of income in. Downside to that is, if I end up finding something semi full-time too, I will likely be overwhelmed and put writing on the back burner again.

Part of the problem when you're doing something like writing or taking a sabbatical for whatever reason is that its so easy to let other things take over your time. Most of my friends who have used their sabbaticals productively were just ruthless at sating no to things. I don't have that kind of self-discipline, but I need to develop it.

I'm usually much better at saying no. I said no to a few small jobs this week, but the last two people to ask are one person I really enjoyed doing work for and one who, while he isn't my favorite employer type, paid me very well and threw all sorts of perks at me.
