Fucking hell dude Pt II
Tue Jan 31, 2012 9:43:47 am

Our little wannabe thief has been let go.

We had "insufficient evidence" to get the police involved, but it was more than enough to fire the bastard. In the "You're Fired" sit-down, GM used a lot of trumped up reasons like his habitual lateness (something I too am guilty of (not so much any more, but still), unprofessional appearance (the guy's clothes are seldom ironed, but one glance around the restaurant at the FOH staff (even when I'm not there) and you'll see at least a dozen visible tattoos which is a big no-no according to the employee handbook), and the fact that he has been suspected of being a drug dealer for quite a while. He was told that the missing money was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

We have an open bartender slot now. Yay. :|

That's one of my problems solved.

That's good. People are stupid.

I worked with one guy who got fired on the spot for comping his friends drinks. Another for drinking behind the bar.

If drinking behind the bar could get me fired, I would not have this job.

It can't?!?! I thought it was against provincial liquor laws.

Oh, I forget -- you're in BC. You can probably smoke weed while sitting naked on the customers' tables and it wouldn't get you fired. Damn hippies.

If we were adjacent to a nude beach, then yeah, probably not. However, there is no smoking allowed on government and/or commercial property. That includes weed.
