Being Poor Sucks.

I find #1 and #4 to be idiotic. They apply to stupid people, not poor people.

I read this one a while back and I think it was the one that made me realize I didn't care much for Cheese's articles.

Interesting. I was just introduced to his writing through this article and found the way he wrote ... true in a human sense. There is not art to it but there is truth.
I will read more of his stuff before I make a final determination but this one i liked.

Have you ever been poor? When you are poor and have been for generations, you do look at money differently. When I am shopping I struggle with buying the cheapest and buying smart. But it took going through a lot of changes in my understanding about money before I understood what buying smart meant. I have a job that is pretty stable and yet I still worry every day if something is going to bounce even though I know there is money in the bank. You just get used to thinking a certain way and it is very hard to stop even when it is not logical.
As for number four, it is all about the moment for people who live in poverty because you never know when it is going to be taken away from you. Tax return time is still like that with my sisters (who have college degrees and live rather well at this point in their lives. Still they don't see things long term. It is always short term. just like when we were growing up.)
Either way, it is how you feel so that is cool.

Well, his writing is good--I just think he writes for the wrong site. Their articles are fact-based, but they use humor to make potentially boring or uncomfortable subjects more palatable; he doesn't do that. With him, these days, it's always stuff from his own life wrapped up into a tidy moral lesson and I guess we're supposed to hug and sing Kumbaya and grow and become better people, and I just find it really tedious. I go to Cracked because I like that I can be entertained while learning some cool new stuff, I don't go for life lessons; I've got enough of those of my own.

I understand that.
Personally, I have too many life lessons myself. I did go back and read the article that is linked in this one and did not enjoy it at all. I barely skimmed it.

I've read most of them, because I just habitually read every article on an interesting subject, but yeah, I don't enjoy his too much.
