Intense Procrastination
Fri Feb 19, 2010 2:07:59 am

It was just a simple email from a client. It took less than five minutes to type a response, but I delayed a whole week and ignored two phone calls before sending a reply tonight. It's usually not so intense. I'm not sure why it was this time. Just thinking about sending a reply caused a physiological reaction. My ears became hot and my stomach developed an uneasy feeling. I fought through that and just sent the reply.

Why does this client invoke this type of response?

It's not a woman. It's a cofee/tea wholesale business.

It is probably the timing and not the specific client. I start weekend classes this weekend. I also have to visit family on Saturday. Replying to the email cuts into the little bit of free time I have left.

That makes sense. Do you have to see family because of the new year?

Yes. It's a late celebration.
