My client's mother died today. We originally had plans to meet tomorrow to discuss the site that I am developing for him. I received an email earlier today informing me that the meeting had to be rescheduled due to the death. My reply focused exclusively on the rescheduling without any mention of the death. I did not say the typical "I'm sorry" or anything like that. It's not that I don't care, although I really don't care that much about a woman I never met before. I wouldn't feel right saying the typical stuff even if I did care.
