I asked Alice for help on aesthetics, but she hasn't given me a response. I'm focusing on the technical aspects at the moment.

I don't know, I almost prefer no attempt at dressing things up to bad ones. And I really, really prefer putting getting the technical aspects right ahead of working on the color scheme.

I would only change the colors. I don't intend to make significant changes to the layout. Because aesthetic preferences are highly individualized, I plan to eventually allow individual customization. I may not change appearances at all until I build that function into the site.

Do you have specific recommendations for improving aesthetics? If it's only issues of color, I can change that quickly. If it's a layout issue, I won't change that until I finish the technical aspect of development.

The colors, yes. Also, the pointy corners. Apparently 90 degree angles put me on edge.I'll spend more time here to give a more detailed answer.

Which colors would look good? I didn't round any corners, because that requires more bandwidth. Rounded corners are actually images loaded in the background of borderless boxes. I may do that later. I didn't know how well the server would handle the bandwidth requirements of operating the site, but it looks like it should be able to handle that fine.I'll spend more time here to give a more detailed answer.
