Free Newsweek
Wed Jan 26, 2011 3:40:57 am

I have no interest in reading Newsweek and I don't recall subscribing to it, but I received two copies of it in the mail. The mailing label had my name and address. I cannot find any records indicating that I paid for it and I just verified that it is still not a free publication. The newsstand price is $4.95 per copy and the lowest price that I could find is 89 cents per copy for a two year subscription.

Could be a serial killer. There may be a slow acting poison in the ink on the card.

I didn't detect any, but it could be a very small quantity.

Do you have a gas mask? Probably wouldn't do much good now if you've already been exposed, but better safe than anthraxed.

I don't have a gas mask, but I have a mask for use with organic solvents.

you're welcome it's from me. did i not sign it? dear god, alzheimers...

also, this reminds me of what magazines used to do, but i thought they passed laws against it. they send you magazines and then charge you for it. I think you need to contact them and tell them to stop or you might be liable for the amount of the magazine, i don't remember anymore. or if it's changed or what.

desperate times call for desperate measures.

You signed it but you have a common first name.

This is the first time I ever received a magazine without subscribing. I am aware of this practice, but I thought that stopped more than 20 years ago.
