Pery Pathetic
Wed Jun 1, 2011 6:41:43 pm
Peripatetic is a word. I didn’t know its meaning. I looked it up. It means walking or travelling about or itinerant. I wondered how the word peripatetic might be used in a sentence.
I was peripatetic.
He went into the hills to assuage his peripatetic feelings.
He was a peripatetic musician.
None of those uses sounded right. When I tried to say the word aloud, it sounded like pery pathetic, which is pretty much how I feel about this word, very pathetic. It is pronounced per-uh, though, not per-ee. I couldn’t even figure out how to say the word properly, much less use it correctly in a sentence.
I have decided this word is not for me to use. It seems pretty snobby anyway.

They pick the strangest concepts to give multiple words and layers. I mean, who seriously benefits from another word for "walking"?

I know Ren. An oversight on my part. Obviously I am better than everyone, but my mom is second best. She's a pretty cool lady.
