Waiting
Fri Jul 17, 2009 5:19:42 pm

My bathroom doorknob has been broken for a while. It didn't really bother me, but the landlord's son, who does most of the maintenance, wants to fix it. He posted a note on my door yesterday with checkboxes to indicate possible time ranges when I would be at home today to let him in. I believe that I checked the noon to 1PM range, but I'm not 100% sure. He took down the paper while I was out and I didn't make a note of it. The time now is 12:19 and he is still not here. This is making me hypervigilant.

How does the landlord's son know your bathroom doorknob is broken?

He came by to inspect for problems.

That depends on what I'm waiting for. I always get hypervigilant when someone knocks on my door. Prolonged anticipation of it is worse.

Waiting for a date can be distressing, but I don't cancel due to lateness. I just suffer.

Consistent extreme lateness is different. I dated a woman who was frequently late by several hours. Her excuse was often oversleeping, but I think she was actually on dates with other men. I stopped dating her solely for this reason.

I used to be very early for work and now I'm usually 5-10 minutes late. I'm still early for dates.

1:19 and he is still not here. I'm certain that I did not pick the 2-3 time range.

Interesting question. I have seen him wear a green one. Why do you ask?

Maybe one of you is color blind.

Maybe this inverts in the ethereal body.

2:00PM and he is still not here. He will probably knock on my door at some random inconvenient time tonight.

Rice milk is better.

I do not like surprise visits. I never answer the door if I'm not expecting someone. I have pretended to not be at home a few times when I got a surprise visit. When they called, I told them I was at work.

I eat it raw, cooked, and roasted. The raw form is very caustic when eaten directly without anything else. I only eat one clove raw. In all other forms, I eat very large quantities.
