High of 107F
Fri Jul 22, 2011 5:11:34 pm

I knew it would be another hot day, but I was quite surprised to see the forecast of 107F with a Reelfeel temperature of 117F.

Temperatures over 101F are very rare in New York and I don't recall ever seeing higher than 102F. 107F would certainly set a record and could very possibly be lethal, especially considering recent power failures.

When I checked the hourly forecast, I realized the error.

107F is the Reelfeel high and not the actual temperature high. The 117F must have been calculated based on 107F as a real temperature.

That's just dumb.

What's worse is that you have the humidity to deal with. At least when our hot weeks come (late August) it's all very dry heat.

Are still not wishing that it'll be autumn already?

It's been pretty bad just about everywhere this summer: http://news.yahoo.com/heat-wave-bakes-central-united-states-150949129.html

We had three days of off-and-on thunderstorms, and it was really nice for a couple days after, then yesterday was almost suffocating heat.

Hot again today, but dry. Thankfully I'm indoors.

All of my windows are open, but there is no wind. This would be nice right now:

Good.

I like all the four seasons. They all have their beauty, but they can all get annoying sometimes.

That doesn't surprise me (don't ask why, it just doesn't).

I like a lot of things about winter. I love real snow. The sound of walking through it, the making of snow angels or snow men, how beautiful it makes everything it covers look like...I Also love the christmas markets here.

I hate winter until it's summer. Then I long for winter.

The prediction of 99F has been surpassed.
