Lost Baby Squirrel in Union Square
Wed Aug 31, 2011 2:51:21 am
This baby squirrel appears to have gotten separated from its mother. Considering the timing, I'm guessing that this separation was caused by Hurricane Irene. It kept trying to climb up the same tree, but it wasn't strong enough. I did not find any nest above and I did not see any adult squirrels up in that tree.
The man who picked it up said he was taking it to the pet store nearby.

Oh I'm glad someone took it to a safe place!
My neighbors raised a baby squirrel after Hurricane Isabel and it would come visit after it grew up and had baby squirrels of its own.

This was very sad to me.

I haven't raised a squirrel, but there was one that visited my home often. It liked to hide nuts in my underwear and once brought in a doughnut. My neighbors raised a baby squirrel after Hurricane Isabel and it would come visit after it grew up and had baby squirrels of its own.

It also liked to taunt the cats. They chased it but were never fast enough. The squirrel sometimes stopped in the middle of a chase to wait until the cats got closer.

I thought you were talking about the squirrel fattening erdos to eat him later, and I was wondering why were you calling him an it.

We have a problem once squirrels start fattening humans for consumption. 0.o I thought you were talking about the squirrel fattening erdos to eat him later, and I was wondering why were you calling him an it.
