My client reluctantly agreed to a change to the project that I suggested. A few hours later, he changed his mind and said he didn't want it done that way. I reworded my explanation in a completely different way. He now thinks it's a totally different and better idea and he has enthusiastically agreed to it. It's still the exact same idea that he rejected earlier.

The only ethical thing to do now is explain it will take longer however and as a re4sulting your billing will reflect that.
