Blog-stalk Confessions: fap fap fap
Sat Jul 3, 2010 5:27:53 pm
by the_grim_zipper
I just took a short walk to loosen my legs and noticed three separate license plates that either started or ended with the letters FAP. Do you think the universe is sending me a message via car registry?

Also, I still do all my banking through the mail, I find it more reassuring than maintaining it online for some reason. I've noticed that since the government restructured lending laws and whatnot, my credit card bill has been arriving a week to two later than it ever had. Pesky card companies, trying to get people to incur penalties...

Is Google Buzz Dead?

I rarely see any activity on there now. All new items on there for the past three months have been the result of integration with something else like Twitter, Flickr, or Google Chat status updates.

Weight

Moving here from MI caused me to gain weight. I went from walking everywhere and having a very physically tiring job to being quite sedentary.

I went from 123 (lowest) to 129 (highest) between the months of Sept-the winter months.

These last few (warm) months, however, along with the move to the city where I walk EVERYWHERE has caused me to lose weight once again.

I am now down to 121. I anticipate this trend to continue as I am becoming even more physical. Yesterday (and today) I hiked with Dennis. We have been taking the dog on a walk nightly. Plus, I have been making Lauren not take the car for anything within walking distance. If it's a mile one way, it's not to far to walk.

Then, of course, I have lost weight after meeting J as I haven't consumed as much chocolate. The chocolate was replaced with drinks so I am pretty sure that was a pretty even trade off.

Anyway, I'm happy my clothes are becoming baggy once again. :-)

Is walking a mile and a half at 10 pm (round-trip) to get a sub worth it?

I'm considering it.

Wow

I am terribly sad after just saying goodbye to J. This does not bode well for the future when it actually hits me that he's gone for good.

I keep fighting back the tears. Not good at all.

D and I are going to take a hike. This will be great to get my mind off things. I hope. I think the first few nights are going to be the worse.

I wouldn't change a thing, however, as he has helped me grow in so many ways. I really needed a J to come into my life and show me how to love again.

Yes, we were the most unconventional couple ever, but somehow we made it work. I will miss him tremendously, but at the same time I am not going to waste what I have learned during the past six months.

The one thing that I REALLY do not look forward to are the dates. I REALLY hate dating. It's so awkward and awful.

I do know (and I think I decided right at this moment) that I think I do someday want to get married. As happy as I am single, my happiness (and actually sadness, and any other emotion) is now multiplied by two. It would be nice to share my life with someone. Come home to someone and love them.

I went from a complete commitment-phobe (trust me, it's still there) to somewhat considering the whole settling down thing. Maybe he has changed me more than I had originally thought!

6 Weeks
Thu Jul 1, 2010 5:08:40 pm
by erdos0
I had a meeting on Tuesday to discuss my proposal for redesigning a diamond jewelry website. It's for a company that has two sites. One is performing well. The other hasn't made a single sale yet since it's launch in March. The current site is ugly, not optimized for search engines, and inconvenient to use due to complex navigation. The shopping cart was totally non-functional when I looked. They told me that it was probably just a bug in a new update, but I wonder why nobody else tested it. Considering how things currently are, I would not be surprised if the shopping cart had never worked.

My proposal was accepted, which theoretically should be a good thing, but I was given only 6 weeks to build this site, and it has to be done entirely from scratch, because it differs significantly from other projects that I have worked on. I had originally offered to build this in 2 to 3 months, but they don't want to wait that long. Assistants are on the payroll, but no money is coming in, and they don't want to fire anyone. Because they are operating at a loss, fixing things quickly is a priority. This means I will not be getting much rest for the next 6 weeks. Adding to this is a week-long visit from relatives that begins tomorrow, so I actually get only 5 weeks to work on this.
