Blog-stalk Confessions: Tidbits...

1- Football season. Finally. Jets and Giants open their new overpriced stadium tonight. Fun fun fun. And more importantly, we'll be playing football in the park very soon. Even more fun.

2- I am going to take a ten mile walk tomorrow. I need to start regaining my endurance, not to mention drop the weight I put on while I was inactive. Maybe I'll tape three pound weights to my ankles to amplify the intensity a bit.

3- I'm almost done selling my autograph collection. The bulk of it closes on Wednesday. I've enjoyed answering prospective buyer questions over the last few weeks. It has given me many chances to reflect on all the fun I had running around in the city.

4- For the third time in three years, I considered and dismissed the idea of taking a cross-country walk to Miami. I came closer this year than the last two years, but the timing is not right, and I'm also a bit overwhelmed by the potential of the idea.

5- I've gotten intellectually lazy. It occurs to me that I have not studied anything new in almost a year. I need to find something captivating. Suggestions are welcome.

6- I want to run my fingers through Jon Gruden's hair. In a very hetero way.

7- I've been writing comedy bits for a friend for a while now, and I recently started writing bits that he will never use. I wonder if I will ever find myself drawn to performing again. I tried acting for a bit, ages ago, and was pretty bad at it. I am terrible at memorizing lines, which is kind of a necessity. My repeated failures completely turned me off to being on stage in any kind of performance capacity. Dunno if the stuff I'm writing will draw me back. Probably just notebook fodder.

8- That is all.

Melbourne, Aug 12 (ANI): Australians in Queensland have now been given the option of a liquid burial, with the world”s first water cremation centre opening on the Gold Coast.

Aquamation Industries chief executive John Humphries says the service, at the Eco Memorial Park at Stapylton near Dreamworld, uses a process it hopes will revolutionise the funeral industry.

"Aquamation is a more natural, ethical and environmentally friendly alternative to cremations and uses water instead of fire to return a body to nature," the Courier Mail quoted Humphries as saying.

"And within a year we would expect you would be able to have this done anywhere in Australia," he stated.

He said the process, called alkaline hydrolysis, relies on the same natural forces by which a dead animal is returned to nature in the bush.

"So we”ve put this totally natural process into a stainless steel tube where the body is washed for about four hours; it”s the same natural breakdown of tissue, just at a faster rate, and even the Catholic church has now approved it," he explained.

Humphries said the equipment he invented was based on an experimental unit in the US that uses extreme pressure and temperature to destroy the infectious remains of cattle with mad cow disease.

"We haven”t invented the process, nature discovered that," he said.

"We”ve simply re-designed the equipment so the water breaks down the cells and brings the body back to the chemical component it”s made up of, leaving only white chalky bones which are returned to the family in an urn, like ashes," he added.

He also said Aquamation costs about the same as cremation, but without the 200kg of greenhouse gas emissions produced in a cremation.

He said the technology was also an answer to new European regulations that state mercury pollution has to be reduced at crematoriums by 2012. (ANI)

My friends and I had a talk, in which we discussed our passions and dreams, and it was a great talk. We all decided we would work to motivate and inspire each everyday towards our goals. I am not joking and it was awesome.

Long story short, I am looking for your best motivating and inspiring stories or quotes.

More on this later ...

The Photography Problem

The photos on the current version of the diamond site that I am working on are horrible. Many of them are blurry and none of them show any color. There is no rainbow of colors in the sparkle. It's just a bunch of overexposed white dots on a blurry grey gem. There are significant problems that make the photos look very amateurish, but they were taken by someone who is supposedly a professional photographer. The worst part is that the photographer is the wife of the owner of the company. This has caused his judgment to be distorted.

The project manager and I have been conspiring to get a better photographer. I had suggested someone I know who worked with me on a different site. This photographer has raised his rates since the last project and the manager doesn't want to pay that much. I could theoretically take the photos. The current photos are so bad that it's very easy to take better ones without any training, and I have prior experience with doing the photography for a different diamond site. However, I can't do the photography because the manager is fixated on the belief that only a professional photographer can do this.

A coward's last stance

My mother just asked me to write my grandmother's obituary. Grandma's eyes and skin are tinged yellow and she's in pain still when she's on heavy narcotics. Her children just brought her to the emergency room a few minutes ago. I don't want to remember just writing her obituary, just her obituary. I am trying hard to remember her before the deterioration, but I only remember bits and pieces.

Memorialize her. Is that the best I can do? Is that my only response to her? I need to shut this computer off. I need to write it in her presence.

Do not you think persons that respond in only such drastic situations are worthy of the name coward? (Consider it hypothetically and not my situation. I already know what I am.)

So many websites in the name of home based internet money, paidtoclick, paidtosignup, paidtosurveys etc., But all seem to be fake and scams.Somemay ask you a one time package fee of few dollars. Why these scams exist?
