Three blocks from my home, I noticed two cars positioned awkwardly with people standing around. I initially thought it was a traffic accident. As I got closer, I noticed a woman facing the car with a man behind her standing very closely and doing something with his hands that I couldn't see. The woman's hands were behind her back. After the maneuver was completed, I saw that she had handcuffs on her. I also noticed that two other men near the car also had handcuffs on them. Three other men around the car who were not wearing handcuffs appeared to possibly be undercover police officers.
This event seems suspicious for the following reasons:
1) One of the men who had handcuffs on him was lead into an apartment building. When someone is arrested, they are typically taken away without being allowed to go back to recover things. It's possible that he revealed information about an injured person or where evidence was located, but it's suspicious.
2) No badges were visible. I have seen other arrests performed by undercover police officers. They always wear badges on necklaces tucked in their shirt which they take out after they reveal that they are officers. I guess it's better in a sting operation to not have badges, but it's suspicious.
3) The handcuffs were black. All handcuffs I have seen used by NYC police officers have had a metallic look. It's possible that this department uses special handcuffs or if there is a new supplier, but I have not seen this before.
The woman looked like a porn star. I had earlier suspected that it was an arrest for prostitution until I noticed some inconsistencies. Now I suspect it might have been filming of a low budget porn movie, but I did not see any cameras.

1) My brother called me this morning to inform me that they would be leaving the hospital this afternoon. That meant I had to visit much earlier than originally planned. I didn't care when I would be able to see my niece in person, but I had an obligation to escort my mother to the hospital. She didn't know how to get there on her own and she wanted to see her granddaughter. We were later informed that they would not be leaving the hospital until tomorrow. I got up early for nothing.
2) My sisters and extended family wanted to see photos. I just spent the past hour and a half editing photos and videos that I took today.

My window is vibrating. I have no idea why. I cannot see anything attached to it that would vibrate. The air conditioner has already been uninstalled. It's probably a vibration that is going through the wall, but I can't feel or hear it anywhere else. The most annoying part is the rattling sound.
My computer has not had a case for a long time. I sold the case that it was in to one of my clients, because there was physical damage to my client's case. Part of the ceiling collapsed and fell on the computer. My case was the only one I could provide quickly enough to satisfy my client.
I have decided to construct a new case for my computer. As with other things that I create, this one will be very unique. I don't have the equipment for cutting and folding sheet metal. I can improvise, but it won't be as neat if I do it without the proper tools. It's also not practical for me to precisely cut wood or acrylic. I don't have a proper workshop that will allow me to make accurate cuts. I can do it with a hand saw, but jagged and tilted edges are not aesthetically pleasing and also do not make stable structures.
I have a mitre box, but it only accommodates objects less than 4 inches in width. I could join together a lot of 4 inch wide wood panels, but that's a lot of work. I decided to make a frame out of wood. I purchased two pieces of poplar which are 1"x2"x6'. The walls will be fabric. I will have plenty of excess fabric from the shoe project, because all orders have a minimum of one yard.

I just spent $48 on a light bulb, which I believe is more than the total I have spent on all previous light bulbs combined. I purchased the ReptiSun 5.0 UVB Tropical Reptile Lamp. It is marketed for use with reptiles and has a warning indicating that it should only be used for them. I don't have any reptiles and I don't intend to get any. I bought it because it emits ultraviolet light along with full spectrum visible light.
I have Seasonal Affective Disorder. The prevailing hypothesis is that this condition is caused by a reduction in sunlight that occurs during the winter. The most common remedy that is recommended is the use of full spectrum lighting. Studies show that there is some improvement, but something must be missing if success rates are nowhere near 100%. For me, full spectrum lighting has not helped at all. Maybe I don't have normal SAD. Temperature makes much more of a difference for me. If I am very cold, I sit all day shivering and being very unproductive regardless of how much full spectrum lighting I get. If I am warm, I can be happy and productive even in low light conditions. However, my condition is not completely remedied by warmth. Light does seem to be a component. Full spectrum lighting combined with adequate warmth helps a lot, but it still feels like an incomplete solution. Something else is missing.
My hypothesis is that the final missing part is ultraviolet light. Full spectrum lights do not emit ultraviolet light. In fact, they contain a coating specifically designed to block emission of ultraviolet light. This is done because excessive ultraviolet light can cause skin cancer and cataracts. This is the reason for the warnings that come with the ReptiSun. The level of ultraviolet light released by ReptiSun is far less than the level used in tanning beds. It is very unlikely to cause skin cancer even if I stand naked in front of it for several hours every day. However, there may still exist a risk of eye damage, but I doubt it will happen unless I stare directly at it. It's a risk I'm willing to take. There is far more ultraviolet light outdoors in the summer and I seldom wear sunglasses.

I'm not sure if it really happened because I was asleep. I had a dream about vomiting and I awoke with the scent of vomit in my breath, but my throat did not burn and I never had acid reflux before. I had strange sensations in my stomach like half attempts at burping. I think this may have been caused by eating undercooked millet for breakfast. I had cooked it for 30 minutes as I usually do, but the granules remained intact instead of fused together as usually happens when they are fully cooked. I probably needed more heat to compensate for the unusually low indoor temperature. I gave it an extra 5 minutes of high heat, but that was not enough. I didn't cook it more because I was already behind schedule and knew that I would be late for work.
