How does swine flu kill?
Sat May 2, 2009 9:49:09 pm
by erdos0
I have been trying to find information on this to satisfy my curiosity, but I have not been able to get a decent answer. According to the World Health Organization, symptoms of infection are: "cough, headache, muscle and joint pain, sore throat and runny nose, and sometimes vomiting or diarrhoea". How does this progress to death? Does diarrhea lead to severe dehydration/malnutrition? Does respiratory distress lead to asphyxiation? Does fever become high enough to cause brain damage?

I can find information on how other cases of influenza have caused death, but not for swine flu. I suspect that the mechanism may be different, because a different age group is being affected. Unlike other strains of influenza that primarily kill infants and the elderly, swine flu seems to kill in the 25 to 45 age range.

Swine Flew Warnings
Tue Apr 28, 2009 1:26:56 am
by erdos0
We didn't panic when we saw the bird flew warnings, because birds fly all the time. Now we have swine flew warnings.
swine flew
This is a serious matter. Everything promised to happen "when pigs fly" and "when pigs grow wings" is going to happen. All of these improbable events are going to happen in a short period of time and none of us are ready for it. Soldiers in Mexico are patrolling airports and buses. Martial law may come to the United States.

The best solution is to exercise your right to bear arms.
right to bear arms
If you see any swine getting ready to take flight. Wrestle it down and tear off its wings. This is the only way to prevent the porcine apocalypse.

I wasn't able to attend the opening on Tuesday, but I got a private tour of the new Broadway location tonight.

The chandalier and bathroom are my favorite features.
