When I was 16 or 17, a friend of mine got a sudden craving for milk and started drinking several glasses of it a day. He made no other changes to his diet and no changes in his activity level, and he lost somewhere between 20 and 30 pounds over a year or so. Before that he was overweight.

I don't think water is gross. It just gets boring after a while, and feels weird to drink with certain foods. The only other thing I drink is milk, but I've cut back a lot due to the whole calorie counting thing.
Tap water has chemicals that I can smell, taste, and sometimes see. Distilled water is fine when I am very thirsty, but it can get nauseating when consumed excessively. It can cause mineral imbalances and concomitant problems with osmotic pressures. Instincts guard against this with sensations of disgust.
Milk can contribute to weight gain due to the presence of growth hormones.

I stopped drinking soda for years.
Then like three weeks ago when we were staying with my parents I got some diet Pepsi or something as part of a sale. Now I've been drinking a lot of it, and just.... dfja;lfjwer. I should know better, but now I've got the taste for it and plain water just isn't satisfying anymore. I guess I just have to go cold turkey again.
Both tap water and distilled water are gross. Yes. We come home, I make dinner and get the kids to bed and then I shower. Well....at some point before bed, I shower. I'm pretty much all dried up now.
