Ode to the winter tree

O winter tree beside the highway
What a sight you are upon the grey blue sky with its red ringed eye
Driving through darkness as the night wears out, enduring the radiant drought
Your wizened bark and fallen leaves inspire me to consciously dream
Your tendril hands stretch, arc, as if to greet or offer rest to soiled feet
A driver is commonly lost to the world, but you caught my eye as if a girl,
Peeling me away from prudence, I stare beyond my automatic cares
Noting elegance and dignity in a cold mourning, my words poorly forming

Winter tree, how ignorant to be eager for spring
When on pale sky your humbling charm is free

I want to see this have commercial success because I hate the thought that this thing will not sell well because it has principally black main characters. Perhaps arguments can be made for movie quality, but shitty movies have been hits. This is the action heavy first introduction, there is a prequel, where they go through bootcamp etc, and a sequel, where they are return and are again relegated to second class citizens. So, I support paying matinee/full ticket price for this film, because the rest of the story should be told, and I think the hollywood revenue calculus needs to be spited, but I get the feeling its weekend will be modest at best, and will not be able to justify its budget. And that is a damn shame.

Note to self: Return to doing crunches and push ups and weighty stuff, pwease. Like you much more when you are doing that kind of stuff.
